Inspired by: Maxfield Parrish

oh obsessions.
sometimes they are fruitless,
ending in hours spent trolling the internet for photos and information.

and other times...
times like this...
I become motivated to the point of creation.

moved by his brilliant color schemes,
I cleaned and dyed half a merino fleece,
drying wool

blended bunches of batts,

spun yards and yards of singles
and then plied and plied.

Thanks for the inspiration

Travels

Hello!
I'm not writing as often as I would like, so it's time to change that.
It's been nearly a month since I left for my cross-country adventure,
with my boyfriend, tons of wool, and my spinning wheel -
buckled safely into the back seat.

I'm staying in Florida for a bit.
Since I have a bit of free-interwebs time,
I'm re-opening my Etsy shop!

Next week's adventure entails only the essentials.
We're strapping our camping supplies onto two motorcycles,
and heading north on the scenic highway.
I think we're going through Georgia,
and possibly into Tennessee
(if the weather allows it).

If you happen to purchase something woolly from my Etsy shop,
please be aware that I won't be able to snail-mail it right away!

But I will be able to answer questions!
I'll try to connect to wifi
from discreet locations
every few days with
my iTouch.
Feel free to inquire about anything your heart desires.
:-)

I'll be back tomorrow to post about our adventures at the Luray Caverns in Virginia.

phat fiber fluff-tastic

I finally bagged my first phat fiber box!!!
the last few months, the boxes always went on sale while I was working. so even though I don't necessarily have the money right now, I didn't know when I'd get another opportunity. besiiiides, the theme is Master Painters!! how could I resist??

I tried to nab the first release (10am EST) but every time I clicked the listing, I was sent to the "sold out" page. so I waited around (and by "waited around", I mean "dyed a butt-ton of fiber") until the next release (7pm EST).

I was armed and ready at 6:49.
had my fingers glued to my keyboard commands
(command R to refresh, command down arrow to go to the bottom of the page)
so for 11 minutes I had my eyes glued 5 inches from my screen, anticipation running through my veins.
command R, command down
command R, command down
command R, command down
as soon as the Fluff box popped up, I whizzed through the buying process,
nervous that someone could snatch it from my fingertips at any moment.
but I got it!
and I am BEYOND excited!

oh hey!

had a mini shop update today!

and I made some chocolate chip banana muffins. jumbo and regular sized. oh so delish'.
mmm...

and on my list of things to do:
patch my poor jeans.
and finish spinning that yarn that's sitting helplessly next to the brain captivating internet device.

dinner:
apple, banana, celery, cucumber, orange, peach yogurt, pear, peanut butter, & spinach shake! oh and some peanut butter on celery sticks. but no picture of that.

shop updaaaaate

i've had this bag of batts laying around for far too long!

mosaic4772c2014120a1751cebb0ba20b3df49ff8fd702

so i spent all day updating my etsy.
between taking pictures, editing, uploading, describing...
now i just want to relax and knit something.

oh, and it snowed today!
i'm both excited and annoyed that its snowing already.
excited because i love scarves and mittens and fuzzy warm clothing.
annoyed because fall didn't last nearly as long as i would have liked,
and because my wardrobe is primarily made up of tank tops.
i'mma freeeeeeze.

now to knit a nice cocoon to curl up in all winter...

Hooded Scarf

Stuff to do today:
Stop being sick.
Take somewhat decent pictures for my etsy shop
make some muffins
knit
finish spinning this lovely green roving I just dyed

Did I mention stop being sick?
I'm already on Week 5 of my 52 Week project. I figured since I failed at the 365 Project, I would start over with something less... needy. haha.

I made a few scoodies to put up in my shop. They're super cute and comfy! I used some cute thermal fabric and gray fleece.

And now I think it's time to stop procrastinating. I'm off to list stuff on etsy!
