by far the most I've ever been overwhelmed by amazing craftsmanship. this festival was so big, with so many vendors. it took us 5 hours to walk around and I'm not even sure we saw everything. then it took another hour to go through again trying to find the vendors I wanted to buy from.
so I gave myself a hundred dollar budget... and I went over by 2 bucks. hehe
1lb 50/50 romney/mohair blend. such luscious colors! and by far the softest romney I've ever felt.
1lb gorgeous teal and moss corriedale
4oz (carded) yellow and (loose) pink cotton.
2oz silk noils and silk waste
2 silk caps. this picture does not do justice to the gorgeous colors
8oz random bag of wool, mohair, angora and alpaca. and glitz!
I went in there with the mindset that I wanted to buy fibers that I have yet to work with, and I succeeded for the most part!
Um, can we say nom nom nom as loudxmouse would? lol Geez, gorgeous! I just LOVE your color choices always. Love that glitz at the bottom, I'm gonna have to get some multicolored one day. I did order (in that famous late night binge of mine) a bag of the peacock colored firestar. I've yet to use it but it's so yummy.
ReplyDeleteSilk caps/scraps/waste, OMG. Those colors are so vivid! I've not done silk yet so I'm so curious about it. I'm trying to get down spinning bamboo on my wheel, it's tough but doable.
& Of course the rest is awesome, but I'm afraid I'll eat up your comment space oooing and aaaing over it so I'll spare you. ;) You seem to know it's awesome. Thanks for sharing!!
hehe I almost went through a late night fiber buying binge a few days ago, but I talked myself out of it with the promise of buying tons of goodies at rhinebeck.
ReplyDeleteI love bamboo, but I'm not a huge fan of spinning it on it's own - too slippery. I like to mix it into EVERYTHING though.
ps, you can eat up as much of my comment space as you want :-D
NOM NOM NOM NOM
ReplyDeleteOMG...what a gorgeous haul! I love what you found at the festival!
